What an exciting Thanksgiving week. I'll post pictures later, but wanted to update you all on our goings on's!! Is that even the correct way to spell it?? Where do I start.
Fist our flight to NC was pretty good except for the fact the people at TGI it's Friday as mom likes to call it tried to serve me my meal after they had already served it to someone else who began eating the fries off the place! GROSS! I yelled at them and told them we didn't want our food, so I got my beers (only 2) for free! So much for the new airport being FANTASTIC, I say it's GROSS!
We had a great time in NC and we couldn't believe how BIG Gavin had gotten since we saw him in March. He's getting much better with his words!! I will post pictures soon!! The trip home was uneventful which was good. I did however manage to catch the cold that Gavin and Mary had while I was there. So now I feel like Crapola! Gotta fight it off by Friday cause that's when we have our Xmas Party!
On Saturday we went and cut down our Christmas tree. I took the disposable camera with us since I've had it at homecoming and wanted to use up the film, so I will scan the photo's once I get them back and post more pictures of that too. Jarrett and I have so much fun doing this and we even took the dogs with us this year. I would be lying if I didn't say that it makes me mad that both years now, JARRETT has picked the "RIGHT" tree. Why does he always find the right one? Damn it, I liked mine! JK, the tree looks great all decorated. But we have been having a few Clark W. Griswold moments with our outdoor lights. The fuses keep jumping so Jarrett needs to work on those tonight!
Sunday we watched the Colts game, it was pretty pathetic and boring! Then Jarrett took me to my annual Christmas surprise. I didn't know what it was going to be this year. The first year he took me to the Nutcracker, last year we saw a country singer that I didn't really know (it was good) but obviously not good enough for me to remember his name. All I knew is that it was about 1.5 hours away. We rolled into this little town and stopped for dinner at this resturaunt that he had found on-line. The place was packed! The hostess kept asking people if they were in town for the concert, so right then, I knew it was another CONCERT. Jarrett was peeved. While we were waiting to be seated. We were standing in the hallway. All of a sudden Jarrett switched sides that he was standing on. I didn't think twice about it, but come to find out, there was a flyer on the wall for the show we were going ot see!!!! Again, it was a surprise and I was looking right at it and didn't notice!
We had a nice dinner and then we were off to the show! Kenny Rogers!!! Why was I so excited about Kenny Rogers? Growing up, my mom always listened to a Kenny Rogers CD around the holidays. I've grown to love this one particular Christmas Album and when I moved out that was the first thing I needed to buy around the holiday's so again, Jarrett being Jarrett found it for me and gave it to me as a stocking stuffer. He's way too good to me. I always told him that I'd love to see his Christmas Show. Well, that was my surprise this year. A trip to Wabash, IN to see him in concert. The show was great. The 1st half was some of his hits and the 2nd half was all Christmas. I was in my glory to say the least!!
For those of you who think Jarrett is just a Smart Ass Dick, he's really a softie at heart and I am so thankful to have him!!
Moving onto Monday. We both took the day off since we were out late for the concert. I was on my way to Danville and guess what I did..................I put the damn Equinox in the ditch. I saw my life flash before my eyes in about 10 seconds. I crossed the lane and did a 180 and ended up in the ditch on the other side of the road facing northbound, instead of south bound which was the way I was headed. We got about 3-4" of snow, I hit a slick spot and away I went, thank god no one was coming or else it would have been a bad accident. Luckily I didn't flip the damn thing, there was such a dip in the ditch, I was lucky cause I hit it horizontally almost perfect to flip it and it didn't thank god!! I had to have the tow truck get me out, I wasn't going anywhere. A quick $95 out the window, but thankfully, no damage was done to the car!!
