Maternity Leave Approved -- HOLY SHIT!

I totally didn't think my boss(s) would approve my maternity leave proposal since I haven't been here for a year yet. If I had been here for a year, I would have qualified for FMLA which means I could have taken up to 12 weeks unpaid off. So I would have had 6-8 weeks of short term disability (depending on how I deliver) paying out 70% of my salary, plus an additional 4-6 weeks unpaid.

Unfortunately, I cannot do this -- so I proposed the following and it was accepted!!!!

* 6-8 weeks of STD (gross it's not a sexually transmitted disease, if that's what you were thinking) paid at 70%
* one week unpaid before the STD picks up
* one week paid by the company
* one week vacation
* one week additional unpaid
* one month transitioning back at 3 days a week

So technically: 10 weeks off, 8 paid by the company or short term disability, two unpaid and then a transition period of a month working only three days a week.

It makes me think that they actually may value my work around this place!!!
