It's been a while since I last posted and I apologize for that! Most of you have seen these pictures either via Facebook or from text message as they all came from my cell phone, but for those that haven't, ENJOY!
PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH: So when Gavin was little, I would often tell Ryan and Mary to let him CIO (cry it out) when he was trying to fall asleep. If you know he's not sick, not hungry and doesn't need anything then he is just fine. Ryan's standard response for everything kid related, "Wait until you have one, it's not easy to hear them cry." While I do agree with you, it's not easy hearing your little one cry, in fact, it breaks my heart, but I will say that it works! We've been putting Stella down for the past two + weeks while she's still awake. Some nights she cries for 2 minutes and other night's I'll let her go for five until I go in and comfort her. It seems like the second 5 minutes is the max before she quiets down and goes to sleep on her own. While I do enjoy my time rocking her or nursing her to sleep, I know in the long run it will be MUCH easier when she's a little older.
She's rolling from back to front without a problem and has twice rolled from front to back! She's starting to reach for things on her own and sits up really well when supported by something or someone. We just got a jumparoo in the mail today and I'm excited to see how she does in it tomorrow!
She's growing so quickly!! She's doing great with solids and so far loves her some: apples, carrots and banana!! She's been doing much better in terms of her grumpiness/colic, maybe it has something to do wtih the solids, maybe it doesn't?
I had to start supplementing with formula once or twice a day since I can't keep up with her anymore. She's taking 6oz at a feeding now and would probably take more some days! It's hard admitting that I'm not able to provide enough for her and honestly, it breaks my heart, but she needs to grow so formula it is!
Daddy started baseball this week and all of us are having a hard time adjusting, mostly daddy though. A couple of nights this week he didn't get to see Stella at all and I know that upset him! It's ok, I keep telling him it won't be every night so hopefully it will start getting better.
We're still up in the air with our daycare situation, mainly because of me, but hopefully over the next couple of weeks we'll get it figured out. In the mean time, THANK YOU to Grandma/Grandpa Holden and Grandma Freel. We're going to be calling on all of you, including Grandma Hammood in the upcoming weeks and hopefully you'll both be able to help us out! We obviously couldn't do it without any of you and thank you for your patience while we try and get things figured out! I'm sure NONE of you mind it, but we know it's a lot to ask!
