So We've Been Keeping a Little Secret!!

Most of you that read our blog have already been let in our our little secret, but in case we have some lurkers out there, our secret is really about the size of a shrimp, which I find a little disturbing. Most of the time they compare it to a piece of fruit, that I can deal with, but a piece of shrimp....it almost makes me want to vomit!

The ultrasound is a little old at this point. I haven't been able to scan any of our more recent one's since I don't have a scanner at home. But in any event, yes we're having a baby!! Baby H is about twice the size it was in the ultrasound, actually it's about the size of a SHRIMP, thus the picture above. Today I am 13w3d and our tenative due date is November 2nd (Jason's Birthday).

Your pregnancy: 13 weeks
How your baby's growing:
Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.

How your life's changing:
This is the last week of your first trimester, and your risk of miscarriage is now much lower than earlier in pregnancy. Next week marks the beginning of your second trimester, a time of relative comfort for many women who see early pregnancy symptoms such as morning sickness and fatigue subside. More good news: Many couples also notice a distinct libido lift around this time. Birth is still months away, but your breasts may have already started making colostrum, the nutrient-rich fluid that feeds your baby for the first few days after birth, before your milk starts to flow.

I will hopefully start updating this every week or two

How far along? 13w3d
Total weight gain/loss: up 3 lbs
How big is the baby? Baby H is just almost three inches long and weighs nearly an ounce.
Maternity clothes? Not yet, but I’m seriously considering some!!
Stretch marks? Nope!
Sleep: I could use more sleep for sure!
Best moment this week: Realizing I’m almost out of the 1st Tri and the risk for a m/c lessens!
Movement: nothing yet
Food cravings: Watermelon or any fruit that is juicy
Gender: For some reason, I’m thinking boy!
Labor Signs: not yet, thank God!
Belly Button in or out? still an innie!
What I miss: Sleeping the whole night through. I get up at least twice to go to the bathroom!

What I am looking forward to: feeling the baby move, but that won't be for another couple of weeks or so!

And if any of you are wondering if we're going to find out the sex, the answer is NO...haha! Grandma's, Grandpa's, Aunt's, Uncle's and Cousin's --Baby H does not want to hear you complain that we are not finding out what his/her sex is......We know it's hard to buy gifts when you don't know what we're expecting, but I'm sure you all will do just fine... There aren't many surprises in life so this is one we're looking forward too. Now that being said, in 7ish weeks when we go back to the doctor and would be able to tell what sex Baby H is, our minds may change, but we doubt it!
