Another random observation--Plan ahead people and buy after Christmas!!

So, growing up as kids my mom always drove us/me nuts with clipping coupons, shopping at the dollar store, buying stuff after the "in season," but I have to say, she knew exactly what she was doing!!

Prime example. Jarrett got this brilliant idea that instead of doing all white christmas lights next year, we'd do red and white. One red, one white, etc. So we started looking for C9 replacement bulbs after christmas so we didn't have to pay full price. I think we got packs of 4 for $.45 so for maybe a total of $15 we can have red and white lights instead of paying $40 for the replacement bulbs.

Now moving on, after looking for the C9 replacement lights on-line cause we couldn't find them in the store initially, we ventured out into the "GOING GREEN" aspect of Christmas, what about doing C9 LED lights? 1. Neither of us are really crazy about the way they look, the color, the brightness, etc. 2. It would be nice however to save the $30+ every December and January on our electric bill by switching to the LED lights.

So I venture to the Wal-Mart yesterday to the by my work and I'll be damned if they didn't have the strands of the C9 LED lights on sale for $1.75 yahhooo!! Now to make things difficult, they didn't have the replacement bulbs, nor did they have strands of the red lights, just white or multi-colored. So what did I do, I bought 41 boxes of both colored and white lights. We can take the red bulbs out of the colored strands and plug them into the white strands....are you following or confused yet? So for $74 I was able to purchase all of the lights we need for the house. If I had bought them before Christmas, I would have paid $286 for them. HOLY CRAP, what a deal I got.

Now that being said, we don't know if we're going to use them, we'll have to look at them tonight, I can always return them if we don't like them. Some may think I'm crazy for spending $74 on outdoor christmas lights, but we'd come out even after about 2 years by using the LED lights..

**SO THE REAL POINT TO MY STORY IS DON'T EVERY PURCHASE ANYTHING CHRISTMAS RELATED BEFORE CHRISTMAS. ALWAYS PURCHASE DECORATIONS AFTER CHRISTMAS WHEN YOU CAN GET STUFF FOR 75% OFF** IF YOU DON'T, YOU'RE CRAZY!
