I've finally come to the realization that I have become accustomed to mid-west weather. For example, as I drive into work this morning, in the sleet, rain and snow (pretty much your good old fashion wintery mix) I've become paranoid to drive in it. Now, I would venture to say that a lot of it has to do with the fact that when I put the equinox in the ditch, there was barely any snow or ice on the ground.
So as I'm driving down the interstate doing the 35-40 mph and moving with the flow of traffic, I realize that about 2 months ago I would have been beyond irritated by the fact that we were driving so slowly. Not today though, I was content and in no hurry at all!
Now I think about our trip 3 weeks ago to Providence and the weather that we so appropriately got delayed by.... As Nick was driving home through about 6-8 inches of snow and slush, driving about 60 mph with no concerns and a BOB (baby on board, haa), I think how crazy he IS/WAS. Now I laugh at the fact that today as I was driving in with less than a dusting of snow and ice I'm PARANOID to drive!! I would like to thank my paranoidness on the drivers who take things sooo SLOW during the bad weather around here. I'd love to see some of them drive during a storm out East. I'm sure as days go by and I drive in more snow, I'll be back to my less paranoid state, but good god, it's funny how things change.....
